f_huetThe Borealis Alliance, a business-driven Alliance of Air Navigation Service Providers in Europe, has announced the appointment of its new Policy and Regulatory Director, Mr Francois Huet.

For the last 5 years Francois Huet has been serving within the SESAR Joint Undertaking (SESAR JU) team as Master Plan Officer and Programme Manager and has managed the 2015 and 2018-2020 ATM Master Plan update campaigns. In 2008, he was seconded to the European Commission to join the team working on the SESII package, both as desk officer in charge of the Performance Scheme and Charging Regulations, and as Secretary to the Single Sky Committee.

François holds MScs in International Law and in Public Administration, was educated in France at the Dijon Law University and Lyon’s Regional Institute of Administration and has undertaken training at the London School of Economics.

Reynir Sigurðsson, Executive Director of the Borealis Alliance, said “The Policy & Regulatory Director is a vital member of the Alliance Executive Management Team, and I’m delighted that Francois has accepted our offer. His experience in working within, and also with a number of the main European institutions will be invaluable to the Alliance, and gives me confidence that he can raise the profile of the Alliance with the key stakeholders in our industry and also the political sphere."

Francois added “I am extremely honoured to have been selected by the Borealis Alliance members to represent them in Policy and Regulatory matters.  The Alliance members are recognised as being in the leading league of European Air Navigation Service Providers, in terms of performance achieved, safety, quality of service and innovation. I am determined to do my utmost in contributing to this effort, which is ingrained in the DNA of the Alliance.”

Francois will take up the role of Policy and Regulatory Director on 1 April 2020.
