Eurocontrol's Aviation Sustainability Briefing magazine recently published an interview with Borealis Alliance Executive Director Reynir Sigurdsson on how the Alliance has transformed the way airlines fly through Northern Europe. In the interview Mr. Sigurdsson gave an account of how the Borealis Alliance had achieved more efficient and more sustainable air traffic operations through its various projects.
Mr. Sigurdsson went through the purpose of setting up the alliance of ANSPs from nine countries – Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Norway, Sweden and the UK. He also touched on the environmental benefits of the Borealis Free Route Airspace, one of its most important and innovative projects, and other projects in the Borealis pipelines.
