Ivar Värk, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Estonian Air Navigation Services (EANS), is the new Chairman of the board of Borealis Alliance. Mr Vark takes over from Ann Persson Grivas, Director General of LFV, Air Navigation Services of Sweden, who has been Chairman for the last two years
Mr Värk has been a member of the Borealis Alliance board since March 2020. He took over as Vice-Chair in March 2022 and was appointed Chairman at the tenth-anniversary board meeting of the Borealis Alliance held in Iceland on Wednesday, October 19th.
Ivar Värk took over as CEO of EANS in 2019. He is Chairman of the Board of Finest Cooperation. Before joining EANS, he was head of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Aviation Services.
At the meeting in Reykjavík, the Borealis Alliance board also unanimously chose Thorsten Elkær, COO of Naviair in Denmark, as the new Vice-Chair of the Borealis Alliance.
The Borealis board restated its priorities and plans for a program geared toward environmental performance. The Alliance will continue to promote its achievements in the area.
The implementation of the Borealis Free Route Airspace programme is at its final stages and progressing satisfactorily.
At this tenth-anniversary milestone, the board decided to review its vision for the Alliance to cement the way forward even further and strengthen its good cooperation.
